Subirachs’ plastic language frequently mixes the human figure with architectural elements.

In this work, the sculptor makes use of a column of the Ionic order and turns it into a female body. So, the volutes of the capital are now her breasts, while the shaft is adapted as the woman’s trunk, hips and legs. Subirachs returns to the classicism from the beginnings of his career through two constants in his work: women and architecture.
