This work belongs to the Voyeur series that Ricardo Moraga develops from 2011.
These are works in which the female human figure appears as an icon of beauty. In the same way, these works have a certain erotic component.
The artist has placed a glass between the observer and the content, as if it was a windows on the façade of a building. This glass, which sometimes is tinted, adds an element of mystery to the work to give the viewer the sensation that he is peeping at the scene. Hence the title of the series, Voyeur.
As in many other works by Moraga, we can appreciate a large number of rust stains in the area that would correspond to the building’s façade. This rust is a constant in Moraga’s works.
In this series, it is also noteworthy that the artist has mixed different materials in the same work: metals, wood, glass, canvas, paint, etc. On many occasions, the wood and metals used are recycled elements.
