This painting belongs to the series of material works that Puigmarti developed throughout the 1990’s. In this period the artist shows great creativity, both technical and stylistic, using all kinds of materials adhered to the surface of the canvas: cardboard, paper, plastic, pieces of old toys, snail or marine shells, etc.

Despite being a character, the development of the work is closer to abstraction than to figuration. This fact is something that we find in Puigmarti’s creations from the 1990’s until the end of his career.

In addition to the material elements, we also observe that both the decorative details and the way of extending the painting respond to intense automatic gestures.
