This painting belongs to the Somewhere in the cosmos collection, which Puigmarti develops in 2006 and 2007.

Puigmarti’s works from the last period, like this one, are always characterized by having been created thoughtlessly, spontaneously and automatically. The entire Somewhere in the cosmos series shows faces in which we find a great technical display, an overflowing creativity and many areas decorated with that spontaneous filigree that characterizes him.

It is also noteworthy that especially from the 90s on, Puigmartí’s works contain less erotic elements. In the same way, the wide variety of iconographic elements that we found in his works from previous decades are reduced almost exclusively to the presence of eyes in almost all of his works. Undoubtedly, the eye is Puigmarti’s favorite icon throughout his career, but in a much more insistent way in his last period.
