This painting belongs to one of the artist’s most famous collections, his Alien fashion, which Puigmarti develops between 2005 and 2007. According to the artist, they are strange characters who wear alien fashion, hence the title of the series.

These are works that show his taste for gestures and non-premeditated painting. Despite the fact that most of them wear full-color clothing, Puigmarti made a series of Alien fashion in black and white.

Puigmarti’s works from the last period are always characterized by having been created in a thoughtless, spontaneous and automatic way, in short, in a very surreal way. The Alien fashion series shows us full-length characters in which we find a great technical deployment, an overflowing creativity, as well as many areas decorated with that spontaneous filigree that characterizes his pictorial creations.
