This painting belongs to the Figuracions singulars series, which Puigmarti developed between 2000 and 2005. The title responds to the fact that we find characters, that is, the figure exists, although the way of treating the subject is almost closer to abstraction rather than to figuration. Hence the title points out that they are singular figurations

These are materical artworks, in which the artist shows great creativity, both technical and stylistic, using all kinds of materials  stuck to the surface of the canvas: cardboard, paper, plastic, pieces of old toys, snail or marine shells, etc.

Puigmarti resorts to his favorite icon of all times: the eye. In most of his works there are eyes apparently placed arbitrarily on the surface of the canvas. Puigmarti said that a white wall with an eye becomes a living wall that looks at the viewer.

Puigmarti’s works from the last period, like this one, are always characterized by having been created in a thoughtless and spontaneous way, in short, in a very surreal way. In all of them the intensive use of his spontaneous gestures in the form of automatic filigree can be observed.
