His main disciplines are painting and drawing, although he has also delved into sculpture created from the assembly of found objects, as well as traditional modeling sculpture using plaster, welded iron, ceramics and granite. Similarly, the artist develops a line of digital work, delving into the world of NFT’s. He also has musical interests that he puts into practice with his musical group, The Lebowskis.

His paintings have a unique and very personal style based, above all, on the observation of everyday scenes. The artist knows how to portray these situations with a certain irony and endow them with a subtle sense of humor.

Centelles has held several exhibitions and has work in permanence at the Hotel del Arte, where in addition to his paintings and sculptures he has presented his digital works and his NFT’s.

He has taught painting and drawing at the Centro de Expresión Plástica TRAÇ. Between 2013 and 2016 he opened his own art gallery Estudio de Arte Centelles in Barcelona.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][et_pb_accordion_item title=”Read more” open=”off” _builder_version=”4.19.5″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}” toggle_font_size=”18px” theme_builder_area=”post_content”]

The characters and scenes portrayed are very varied and can range from situations in urban environments to beach scenes or characters from the rural world. These characters are sometimes depicted in an almost grotesque manner, exaggerating certain details for comic effect. However, it should be noted that Gonzalo Centelles always treats all his characters with respect.

The artist himself defines his style as a cocktail that brings together various artistic trends to result in a work with a clear costumbrista tone. All of this is supported by a sometimes risky use of color, with an exhaustive game of chromatic interactions that catches the observer’s attention. Also noteworthy is his search for impossible perspectives that surprise for their audacity and courage.

Technically, Centelles has always been an artist with a great number of pictorial resources. But, by the same token, he has always been a very perfectionist artist with his own work and with a high level of self-demand that, at the same time, likes experimentation.

All this contributes to make the vision of his paintings very dynamic and surprising, as well as endearing.

[/et_pb_accordion_item][/et_pb_accordion][et_pb_button button_url=”https://hotelestela.com/en/art-information-request/” button_text=”More information” button_alignment=”center” _builder_version=”4.19.5″ custom_button=”on” button_text_size=”16px” button_text_color=”#FFFFFF” button_bg_color=”#D5A87D” button_border_width=”1px” button_border_color=”#D5A87D” button_border_radius=”0px” button_letter_spacing=”1px” button_font=”||||||||” button_use_icon=”off” custom_margin=”33px||||false|false” custom_padding=”15px|30px|15px|30px|true|true” global_colors_info=”{}” button_bg_color__hover_enabled=”on” button_bg_color__hover=”#000000″ button_letter_spacing__hover_enabled=”off|hover” button_letter_spacing__hover=”1px” button_border_color__hover_enabled=”on” button_border_color__hover=”#FFFFFF” button_text_color__hover_enabled=”on” button_text_color__hover=”#FFFFFF” button_bg_enable_color__hover=”on” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_button][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”1_2″ _builder_version=”4.16″ custom_padding=”|||” global_colors_info=”{}” custom_padding__hover=”|||” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][et_pb_gallery gallery_ids=”55731,55730,55729,55728,55727,55725,55724,55723,55722,55721,55720,55719,55718,55717,55716,55715,55714,55713,55712,55711,55710,55709,55708,55707,55706,55705,55704,55703,55736,55747″ gallery_orderby=”rand” zoom_icon_color=”#D5A87D” hover_overlay_color=”rgba(0,0,0,0.49)” _builder_version=”4.20.2″ _module_preset=”default” title_text_align=”center” title_text_color=”#6B6B6B” title_font_size=”13px” title_line_height=”1.9em” caption_text_align=”left” caption_text_color=”#FFFFFF” caption_font_size=”1px” caption_line_height=”16px” width=”100%” custom_margin=”26px||||false|false” global_colors_info=”{}” caption_line_height__hover_enabled=”on|desktop” caption_line_height__hover=”16px” theme_builder_area=”post_content”][/et_pb_gallery][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]

Gonzalo Centelles (Barcelona, 1980)Centelles is a multifaceted artist who, despite his youth, has a wide experience of more than two decades.
