From Sitges to the Goyas
The Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, held annually in Sitges, and the Goya Awards Gala are separate events. However, some of the films awarded or screened at Sitges often go on to play a significant role at the Goyas.
We could say that the Sitges Film Festival is often a launching pad for genre films that can later compete for technical or animation awards at the Goyas, as happened with filmmaker Alberto Vázquez and his feature film Decorado, which won four Goya Awards.
