This sculpture made in stone from Ulldecona belongs to the stage of the new figuration. Within this stage there are a good number of sculptures that take women as a formal reference, including The goddess. In it, the artist completely reveals the face of the deity. The features of the goddess appear in the concavity of the stone. The roughness of the outside of the block contrasts sharply with the smooth texture of its interior. The fineness of the concavity conveys the protection that deities provide to humans.
The positive-negative game that the artist has used to create the optical effect by which it appears to be a positive, despite being a negative sculpture, is interesting. Also noteworthy is the kinetic effect that occurs when we move from one side to the other without taking our eyes off it, as the sculpture seems to follow our movement.
