________________________

This work belongs to the oneiric-erotic surrealist stage that Puigmarti developed between the 60’s and 80’s of the 20th century.

During this period, we usually find female bodies without heads, but in this work we see that the female characters (or mannequins) have heads. This is because this is a late work within this pictorial stage of the artist.

The work is profusely decorated with the artist’s own iconography: female breasts spread all over the canvas, fruits, buttons, ribbons, snails, masks, tears, chess pieces, eyes and phallic symbols.

In the same way, we also find an intense work of automatic gestures throughout the pictorial surface, with the decorative filigree that the artist deploys automatically and spontaneously.

The fact that it is full of small decorative details makes the overall vision of the work very dynamic, and even entertaining.
