This painting belongs to the time of the 90’s of the 20th century. This stage is characterized by great creative freedom and the use of a wide range of technical resources. The works of this period were created in a very gestural and automatic way. The gradual elimination of elements of erotic iconography that Puigmarti used between the 1960’s and 1980’s is noteworthy, while the artist’s favourite icon, the eyes, is gaining more and more prominence.

During this period, the artist also resorted to accidental techniques such as dripping and splashing. Another important feature in Puigmarti’s works is the lack of symmetry in his characters.

Despite being a character, the development of the work is closer to abstraction rather than to figuration. This fact is something that is repeated in Puigmarti’s creations from the 1990’s until the end of his career.
