The room pays homage to Audrey Hepburn, the iconic celluloid star of Hollywood’s golden age.
Antonio de Felipe is the greatest national exponent of Pop-art and one of the few artists on the international scene who remains faithful to this style that had its heyday during the 1960’s of the 20th century.
The artist pays his particular tribute to Audrey Hepburn as a result of the admiration that he feels for the actress. On the wall at the foot of the bed, we can see a series of faces of the famous actress painted using different colours for each one of them.
In addition to the obvious tribute to the actress, Antonio de Felipe’s artistic language regularly honours other famous artists. Thus, on the ceiling of the room we see clouds created like the great artist Fernand Léger. In the same way, on the wall at the head of the bed he has used another icon of Pop-art such as flamingos.
De Felipe also painted the rest of the room pink, and decided that the sofa and chair had to be upholstered in pink tones.
As a curiosity, the artist kept the shirt that he had used to work in the room and today it can be seen framed at the entrance to the bedroom.
